The U.S. Department of Commerce said in a statement on the same day that the above investigation was initiated on the basis of a petition filed by Berwick Offray Corporation in December last year. The company accused China of dumping the above products imported from China in the U.S. market at 74.34% to 370.04%, accusing the Chinese producers and exporters of accepting unfair government subsidies.

According to U.S. trade remedy procedures, the U.S. International Trade Commission will make a preliminary ruling around February 12. If the commission rules that there is a sign that the above-mentioned products imported from China pose a substantial threat or damage to U.S.-related industries, the U.S. Department of Commerce will continue its investigation of anti-dumping and countervailing duties and expects to review the subsidies and dumping margins in March and June respectively Make a preliminary decision.

According to the data from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. imports of such products from China in 2016 amounted to about 18.1 million U.S. dollars.

China's commerce ministry has said many times that it hopes the U.S. government will abide by its commitment to oppose trade protectionism and jointly safeguard a free, open and fair international trading environment so as to handle trade frictions more rationally.
