Amore And LG Take The Lead, Korean Makeup Will Increase The Use Of Colorless Transparent Plastic Bottles
- May 04, 2018 -

According to the beautiful news of the rich body, the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea and 19 companies in South Korea recently signed the “Simple Spontaneous Recycling and Packaging Agreement” in Seoul, which aims to promote the recycling of resources and reduce environmental pollution caused by packaging materials.

Earlier, the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea formulated the "First Phase Product Recycling Evaluation Plan (2018~2020)" in accordance with the "Basic Law for Resource Recycling." It is expected that the use rate of colorless cosmetics and beverage plastic bottles will increase significantly from next year. The agreement is expected to be implemented in June 2018 until the completion of the target; in 2018, the use of colorless plastic bottles such as cosmetics and beverages is expected to surpass 63.5% in 2016 and increase to 85.1%.

It is reported that the 19 companies signing the agreement accounted for 55% of the total export volume of plastic bottles (260,000 tons) in South Korea as an obligatory recycling production enterprise (according to 2016). The companies that signed the agreement this time include cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, dairy products, and beverages. Among them, cosmetics as a bottled container bear the brunt of a large number of consumer products, South Korea's cosmetics company Amore Pacific, LG Life Health, Aekyung industry have signed the agreement.

According to the agreement, by 2019, these companies will improve the material and structure of the packaging according to different product categories. Cosmetics, mineral water and other products will consciously use colorless transparent plastic bottles for recycling. In addition, in addition to beer and other types of products, in order to ensure product quality, if necessary, companies can use limited brown or green plastic bottles.

The reporters found out that the production of transparent and colorless cosmetic plastic bottles usually uses PET plastic, which is environmentally friendly and non-toxic, but the price is slightly higher than other materials. Colored plastics generally use the plastic colorant “masterbatch” to color the plastic. As the most common coloring method at present, the color masterbatch will also affect the plastic performance and increase the cost of the product when giving the product more color. .

According to the "New Plastics Economics" report, at present, only 14% of the world's plastic packaging is recycled, and only 10% of effective recycling is achieved. The use of cosmetics has a long life cycle and low added value. Empty bottles also tend to be mixed with domestic garbage, causing difficulties in sorting and recycling. The recycling of plastic products still has a long way to go.

“It is gratifying to implement a colorless and transparent packaging and strengthen the recycling of resources.” Li Daoyang said: “But under the overall environment, the proportion of the cosmetics packaging market in the total category packaging can only be counted on as low as 100%. This type of action related to the global environment needs to be promoted by the entire society to achieve the desired results."
